• Obtain application for dual citizenship form, fill it accordingly and sign.
• Have a completed application for dual citizenship notarized by notary public.
• Make personal application letter/request addressed to Secretary National Citizenship and immigration Control BOARD, MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS.
• Obtain Forms “A” and” B”, fill them accordingly and have them signed by local council chairpersons 1, 11, 111, District Internal Security officer and Resident District Commissioner of your respective area of residence in Uganda.
• Obtain a recommendation letter from a lawyer expressing his or her knowledge about you the applicant.
• Obtain Certificate of Good conduct/Certificate of no criminal record from the home country or Interpol.
• The applicant has to obtain medical report of sanity from psychiatric doctor upon examination
• Obtain copies of immigration laws of the other country allowing dual citizenship.
• Take and sign the oath of allegiance then have it commissioned by the commissioner of oaths.
• Get photocopy of the current passport and birth certificate to proof that you was formerly Ugandan and is aged 18 years and above.
• Obtain photocopies of your parents’ birth certificate and passports depending on the circumstances.
• The applicant should get 3 recent colored passport photos with a white back ground.
• Compile attach all the above on the application in a manila file and submit it to National Citizenship and immigration Control office, MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS Kampala.
• The immigration officer will go though it and forward it to the citizenship board.
• The citizenship board will sit and review the application for purposes of granting or rejecting it.
• In case it is granted the applicant will be called upon to take fingerprints have his application assessed for fees payment.
• Upon the getting assessed forms the applicant should pay the grant fees and submit the payment receipts at commissioner citizenship office.
• Certificate of dual citizenship will be prepared, signed and issued to you.
• Upon signing the applicant picks his certificate of dual citizenship, thereafter they will process for him or her new passport indicating that he hold dual citizenship.
