- LAW N° 31/2009 OF 26/10/2009 ON THE PROTECTION OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
- MINISTERIAL ORDER N°26 OF 17/03/2016 DETERMINING THE FORM AND CONTENT OF POWER OF ATTORNEY FOR THE INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY
It is a requirement under Rwandan law to provide powers of attorney to the representative and the power of attorney of the intellectual/ industrial property may be drafted as follows
- Provide the title of the document
- indicate full names and address of grantor
- indicate Full names and address of the intellectual property agent
- indicate subject and scope of the power of attorney
- provide determination of the place where the power of attorney will be executed
- indicate commitment by the grantor to be bound by the acts of the agent within the power of attorney
- power of attorney signed by the grantor with company’s seal if a company
- provided date on which the power of attorney takes effect for a grantor whose habitual residence or principal place of business is located outside the Republic of Rwanda
- the power of attorney must be certified by the Notary
