- THE REGISTRATION OF DOCUMENTS ACT (CAP 81)
- REGISTRATION OF PERSONS ACT , 2015
Any person desirous of changing his or her names can do so.
Find a lawyer to draft for you a deed poll stating the changes you are making( in case you do not have one click on this link for assistance
Have a copy of deed poll published in either Uganda gazette or any newspaper of wide circulation in Uganda.
Take copies of deed poll for assessment of registration fee either at Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) or DAIMOND TRUST BANK.
Proceed and pay the registration fee as directed.
File both the copies of deed poll and payment receipt to registrar of documents/births and death at URSB, you should be advised When to pick your copies.
Deed poll shall be given file number and forwarded to the registrar.
Deed poll shall be reviewed and registered by registrar.
Cross check with the registrar’s office to pick your registered deed poll on the date you were told check
approximate cost .ordinary process ugx 900,000( within 15 days) express process ugx 2000,000
