HOW TO REPLACE A MISSING REGISTRY COPY OR WHITE PAGE (ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE OF LAND TITLE) IN UGANDA

Governing laws include

REGISTRY COPY, WHITE PAGE or ORIGINAL COPY is the original certificate of land title which the office of registrar of titles retains in the file AT LAND registry.

There are always two copies of certificate of titles made on every particular piece of land registered under RTA , one is called registry copy, original copy or white page and the other is called owners copy or a Duplicate Certificate of Title .

The original copy/white page /registrars copy always remains at land registry in the file while Owner’s copy / a Duplicate Certificate of Title is given to the owner/registered proprietor to keep.

Sometimes when you have a transaction to execute on that very white page you may find that the original copy of the title /white page at land registry is missing or cannot be traced within the strong room/store (it might have been stolen, lost, misplaced, hidden or destroyed).

In such circumstances you replace missing white page/registry copy/ original copy with SUBSTITUTE CERTIFICATE OF TITLE

NOTE. When you are replacing owners copy / duplicate certificate. You apply for SPECIAL CERTIFICATE OF TITLE; the procedure is in one of my previous publication however when you are replacing registry copy/ original copy / white page at the land registry you apply for SUBSTITUTE CERTIFICATE OF TILE and the procedure is as follows
