HOW TO LAWFULLY CORRECT OR AMEND CERTIFICATE OF LAND TITLE WITH OR WITHOUT A NOTICE IN UGANDA.
(I.e. names of the registered proprietor, address, size of land, location of the land, signature among others)

Some changes on land title may need notice to be given to the people who may be affected by the changes while others do not need the notice as such.
In case the changes or amendment you want to make on your title do not need notice to correct the register you may affect those changes by.
- Write a request/complaint about those changes on your land title to registrar of titles responsible in the area where land is situated.
- In your letter be precise to the mistake/problem what you want to be corrected on the register or the changes you want to make on the register.
- Submit your request/ complaint to gather with duplicate certificate of title and the photocopies of the same to the office of registrar of titles at the land registry where it was issued and ask when to check.
- The photocopies are stamped ‘Received’ and returned to you, you should be told when to check,
- The file at land registry (white page/original certificate of title) is requested for and retrieved from strong room by the front desk managers or any other person charged with that task at the registry.
- The complaint /request is reviewed and approved by registrar who authorizes the rectification of the register and forwards it for typing and correction of the register.
- The request is then scanned in the computer system and forwarded to the registrar for signature.
- The registrar signs on the both the duplicate certificate of title and the white page/register’s copy and forwards the file for scanning out.
- Check on the day you were told to confirm the rectification of the Register and the Duplicate Certificate of Title.

- The parties involved receive invitation letters from the registrar of titles of inviting them for a hearing of the matter at hand.
- Upon the Registrar hearing parties involved and is satisfied with the applicant he or she shall issue a 21 days’ notice to confirm the rectification of the Register.
- The request to amend shall be scanned in the computer system and forwarded to the registrar for signature.
- The registrar signs on the both the duplicate certificate of title and the white page/register’s copy and forwards the file for scanning out.
- Check on the day you were told to confirm the rectification of the Register and the Duplicate Certificate of Title.
